Biography

Timothy Davis is a Spirit filled evangelist, worship leader, songwriter and musician.
Growing up in the small town of McComb, MS., from an early age he was musically inclined.
In high school, Tim began writing songs and was determined to start a band as soon as he graduated but he, just like many got caught up in the cares, losses and responsibilities of life.

Being raised in a non-Christian, dysfunctional home and being the black sheep of the family, Timothy was never encouraged to succeed in anything. His sense of loss and rejection overwhelmed him to the point of seeking after the ungodly things of this world to try to satisfy his desire to be fulfilled with love and acceptance.
Finally, bound by alcoholism, heavy metal secular music, anger and thoughts of suicide, he was sure to head down the wrong path that would eventually lead to destruction.

However, God had other things in mind when He placed a christian friend, a church family and a praying grandmother in his life that would lead to his salvation to Christ in August of 1990. Having Christ's new found freedom and love in his life, Timothy determined and set out in his heart to make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
Serving in his local church in different capacities including music ministry, singing in two gospel groups and songwriting, God began dealing with Tim to go into full-time ministry. Three years later he accepted the call to preach, became more involved in music ministry and began pastoring.

To this day it has been a challenge not to revert back to the days and scars of his child rearing when rejection was the norm. He says today "I have to keep in mind that souls are at stake here and that people need love, acceptance, and ministry just like I did and the greatest reward of ministry is seeing them come to Christ who fills that void."
"Life won't be without challenges" as Timothy would later face the death of his best friend and twin brother, Michael Davis at the early age of 24 and the death of his father in December of 2004.

With eight years pastoral experience and continuing to write songs, he held concerts throughout Mississippi and Louisiana which included preaching engagements. But, in January of 1999 things changed when The Holy Spirit directed Tim to move back to his hometown to pastor his home church. It was there after one year of pastoring that the Lord began showing him in dreams that He was calling him into full-time evangelism and music ministry. In January of 2002, waiting on God's timing and one confirmation after another, Tim finally accepted that call.
Today as a minister and music evangelist, he says that he is committed to the call for revival and evangelism by the message in preaching and in song. With his pastoral experience he says he understands the heart of a pastor to minister to their community and to the body of Christ.

Timothy Davis has shared his ministry in churches and arenas of different denominations for many years including holding outside crusade events, tent revivals and concerts to reach the lost.
His first CD release called "Silent Cry" is an all original list of Christian Contemporary songs that Tim has written, recorded and produced that is reaching people of all ages. These songs were written over a period of years and were recorded on the "Silent Cry" project. He says to this day he continues to write and is currently working on new material on a regular basis. One of which is a new album being recorded in Nashville with the former band of "Sonic Flood".

Over the years his musical influences have been Journey, David and The Giants, Petra, Marty Raybon, Mercy Me, Hillsong, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp and many others.

In September of 2004, Timothy had the honor of opening for "Dove Award Winner" "Ginny Owens" and said it was one of the highlights of his ministry. In March of 2005, he entered the Christian Contemporary Music Network International Talent Search and won third place as the only male in his category. He says he gives God all the glory for his accomplishments.

Currently, Timothy resides in Olive Branch, MS with his lovely wife Laura who has been a tremedous support to the minstry. He says he thanks God for her rescuing his heart in a time of darkness. She has an incredible passion for the Lord not to mention an awesome calling as a minister of The Gospel. Together they are rearing two children; Cameron and Gavin, who are two awesome and talented "young people".

His mission is to reach out in ministry to the lost and to edify the body of Christ with the Gospel in Word and in song so that true worship and revival may be restored to the Church, to reach the youth of our generation and to preach the message of holiness and reconciliation to God, knowing that Jesus is soon to return. 1 Peter 2:9

Pastor L. R. Massey - Family Life Church of God - Southaven, MS

An Interview with Timothy Davis...

1) When did you first start dreaming of writing songs singing on stage for the Lord?

Well, writing songs and singing have always been in my heart since I was a child. Music has always intrigued me and seemed to take my heart. In Junior High and High School, it was my passion to pursue a career in music. However, I didn't even consider writing and singing for The Lord till I got saved in August of 1990. That's when my dreams of writing and singing on stage for The Lord began to be a reality that I would pursue with my whole heart.

2) How do you know that this is definitely your calling?

It started out as an inner intuition and then began to become more real as I would become involved in the local Church in music along with holding other capacities and having the opportunity to sing in different places. Then as the years went by, especially my third year as a Christian, I was prophesied over by several ministers of the Lord, along with dreams and visions. That year became the spring board and the realization that God was calling to be a music pastor and evangelist.

3) Tell me your background as far as music.

Well, I had a metal band in High School which never got passed the garage stage to singing with two different Southern Gospel Groups like The Duncans after I got saved for about 5 years. Then from there went to singing solo as an evangelist traveling to churches and venues all over MS and LA and AL and sharing the stage with people like Jenny Owens and Jonathan Pierce.

Today, I'm still in the race preaching and singing and leading people in worship while working on cutting a professional album in Nashville with the former Sonicflood Band.

4) What challenges have you met?

Growing up a non-Christian disfunctional home as a child with no love, affection and support to follow my aspirations in life, rejection became a real issue for me. As a result, you have a tendacy to become fearful of the unknown because you never had support from your own family to keep having faith to pursue your dreams. Then comes the losses in life like the death of a Grandmother and Grandfather, a twin brother and Father who was the only blood relatives you had left as far your immediate family. That takes the wind out of you. So it's a challenge not to become stagnant and fearful and to continue to have faith that God's confirmed call is upon my life to do great things for His Kingdom.

5) What achievements have you made in music?

Winning third place in the CCMNI talent search contest. Recording my first ever professional album in Nashville with the former Sonicflood Band. Singing on multiple stages, churches and venues, sharing my original songs and watching lives changing before my very eyes.

6) Who are some of your musical influences?

When I first got saved it was David and The Giants, Petra, and Micheal W. Smith. As far as Southern Gospel it was Gold City and Gaither Vocal Band. Then as the years progressed and I began writing Contemporary those influences were artists and bands like Steven Curtis Chapman, 4Him, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns and Jeremy Camp. As far as Contemporary Worship and Praise it would be Hillsong, Hillsong United, Planet Shakers and Chris Tomlin.

7) Who inspired you to stick with you dream no matter what? Elaborate on this.

First of all, there has always been an inner drive of the Holy Spirit to keep pursuing my dream and calling. Secondly, I would have to say the people who's lives have been changed by the ministry God has given me. Thirdly, my wife who keeps my feet to the fire and encourages me to keep pushing and praying for God's best in my life. Then fourthly, I believe everybody needs a comrad, brother in Christ, supporter, accountabilty and prayer partner in life to share your heart with who will stand by your side even in the storms of life and that would be my best Victor Lowery who got in my face sometimes and said "Get up and put your armor back on and fight for what you believe in!"
